About Ile Awodi
ILE Awodi temple is a West African spiritual and religious
organization dedicated to preserving indigenous Yoruba spiritual
principles and reconnecting African Americans back to their
ancestral traditions. We do this through religious education,
African sacred arts classes that utilize indigenous Yoruba music,
and indigenous Yoruba divination. While our organizations are
dedicated towards the advancement and spiritual development of
the African American community, we do not discriminate based on
race, gender, ethnicity, or age. ILE AWODI prides itself on
fostering a vibrant spiritual community rooted in healing,
acceptance, and dedication to Yoruba spiritual principles, while
encouraging our members to engage in deep reverence for their
ancestral traditions birthed after the transatlantic slave trade, or
traditions rooted in their ancestral lineages.
About Chief Awodi
Chief Awodi is an ordained chief amongst the Southwest region of Nigeria. He holds a Masters degree from the University of Washington Seattle and Executive Director of The Hawk Foundation for Research and Education in African Culture. Providing African music education, and Black History trainings through Washington State, and the greater West Coast.

Chief Awodi has been initiated to Ifa for over 14 years and had undergone extensive training and in West African Ifa, and Orisa practice. In addition to divining utilizing the sacred Opele chain, and Ikin; he has been trained by the head Osun priestess of Oke Ogun Iseyin land in the sacred art of the Eerindilogun (16 cowries). A divine practice
that women in Iseyin have held on to for thousands of years.
The chief is also initiated into the Ayan society and has been trained in the sacred art of West African Bata. He can play the sacred musical poetry for the Orisa, while leading and facilitating sacred West African Orisa/Ifa ceremony.
He lives in both Seattle, and Nigeria. Facilitating environments for healing, education and cultural reclamation.
